It's time, that mankind needs to disappear from this planet... It's a shame. Indonesia is in the guiness book of records, no other country is clearing the forest so fast! I saw a video, how farmes clubbed orang utans to death, as they cutting trees. I don't get it! How can people do that?!?

This video shows the problem, but not the solution. RSPO is a perfect example of green washing. Sustainable palm oil is very rare. So every kilogram of palmoil exported to Western countries increases the problem. Only an European importban or high import taxes on palm oil, soybeans, agro fuels, timber will solve this problem. In this way a sustainable production in the EU is possible. We need to combine this with a reduction of consumption of these products and of energy. So please boycot RSPO.

Many do not yet realise the true value of South East Asia's rainforests. While the Amazon takes the cake for its sheer size and popularity, the forests found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and other South East Asian countries are proven to be some of the oldest in the world. More species of flora and fauna can be found per square feet than even in the Amazon. Not only are we losing forests. We are losing a part of our world's history!!

I am absolutely repulsed that the tropical rain forest along with the many endemic species are being targeted to fulfill the selfish needs of our fat obese society.I would rather have people get coronary heart disease from partially hydrogenated oils than threaten these species and STILL get coronary heart disease. Face it, if you are going to eat junk food, you're going to have heart problems. So stop going after Borneo and Sumatra.

Coykiyote, because of deforestation Indonesia is the third largest poluter, after the US and China. All because of deforestation. 20 % of greenhouse gasses come from deforestation, that's more than all the cars, trucks boats planes and trains combined. Palm oil contributes to this. So a car on biofuel could be more polluting than a car on gasoline.

Palm oil is biofuel that emits a LOT less carbon! We lose Indonesia but gain the world. It's worth the trade off.

This video breaks my heart we all need to take action now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Palm oil should be boycotted.

to nholko:yeah indeed I agree with you, I think even fossil fuels are better than this.

These plantations cause an enormous amount of CO2 being pumped in the atmosphere, because rainforest is chopped down and burned. Also, palm trees take up much less CO2 than rainforest.
