We need more men like him [Franco] in Africa , there is too few of us that like to see cohesion. Each wants to lead , none wants the responsibilities of a leader.

Someone asked "how could one band bring together so many singers?" I noticed Franco OK Jazz is the only person in Africa who brings together different talents from time to time to display their talents. His corporate attitude leaves a lasting legacy in his work.

You raise a pertinent point, edgar, but nobody is perfect! Even Jesus, given a second chance, would probably deal with his obvious favoritism for lying and infirm Peter in a different way!Just enjoy what TPOK Jazz left behind, and quit picking on Africa. Everybody does it. Have you seen how Chinese idolize Mao? Or the way Americans talk about Lincoln? Its human, not African!

sorry guys, Franco had so many strength but it seem typical of Africa no one will want to talk of his weakness as a person especially his relationship with Michellino and his mishandling of the senior players relationship with Madillu. Sorry for stirring the hornet's nest guys!

Good good stuff! Has three of my favorite soloists - Wuta mayi, Josky, and Ndombe Opetum!Only ones missing among my favs are Djo Mpoyi, Ya Ntesa Dalienst, Malage De Ludegendo, Mabiala Gilbert, Lola Checain, Carlito Llasa and recently departed Jean Piere Bialu Madilu!...How could one band bring together so many great singers?

6:13 onwards...That is music from the heart; sang with such a deep passion, these were the days when music was not just a means of becoming a celebrity, tpok defined music by the passion it was composed and sang, that i believe is what made them real musicians, which gave them the rightful celebrity status...Nostalgia! |
