I saw the stooges on my 18th birthday, Jun 221967, at the Grande ballroom in Detroit..theheadline acts were Blue Cheer and the MC5...Blue cheer was late, so Iggy and the Stoogesopened with "I just want to be your dog"...first time I ever saw or heard a guitar through full Marshall stacks...blew me away!I only knew Iggy as the guy who used to ridehis high handle bar bike through the alleybehind my apartment; on stage he was a realfreak and scary as hell; Ron, RIP, brother..

What a tough loss. Some musicians you like, others you *@&%ing love. For me, Ron Asheton and The Stooges fall into the later category. RIP Ron!

Wow! I thought maybe this guy is correct? Maybe he has done something in his life and actually has a point. What came over me?? I have never heard anyone that is so arrogant about the things he has done in his life. In reality, the things you have done are not essential or creative. Maybe, you should drop the false pride and do something real in your life. As for your ignorant statements above...I don't smoke, drink or do drugs, I have a career(not a job). Most of all your movies are horrible.

R.I.P. Ron Asheton.There are millions of punk and hard rock fans that are unaware that Asheton was a major influence on all of their heroes. From the Sex Pistols and The Ramones to Janes Addiction and Nirvana. It can't be overstated.
